Queenstown pickup, coach to Manapouri (1.5 hours southwest). Board a coach-cruise across Lake Manapouri, then drive over the scenic Wilmot Pass. At Doubtful Sound, board for a longer 3-hour cruise — the fiord is roughly 40 km long vs. Milford’s 15 km, and sees fewer boats. Wildlife: fur seals, dolphins, sometimes penguins. Less dramatic than Milford (peaks lower, walls less sheer), but wilder and quieter. Return coach mid-afternoon, Queenstown ~6 pm.
